Last Sunny Day of 2018

Sometimes you just have to seize the moment!  December 30th was an amazing sunny winter day.  A day you have to be sure to get your face in the sun for some happy dust and vitamin D.  Chris and I went down to the end of the road with our cushions and sat on the ocean rocks and enjoyed the sun and the waves and the sinking sun!  The west coast is surely the best coast!

Snow Day December 28th!

Friday was a magical day! It was an unexpected snow day - a thing of wonder!  I just knew it would be short lived so I raced home from work to go play in the white gift with Ajax.  Even an isolated snow fall has a special quality about it.  Ajax was so excited, but the excitement was short lived as the snow soon turned to rain and was gone within an hour. 

Another Christmas Past

Well 2018 Christmas has come and gone, as have the other 60 that I have celebrated in my life time. A lot has changed from last year at this time.   This year it was a quiet few days, me recovering from a cold and Chris mid-cycle of his 3^rd Chemo round.   Christmas eve was just the two of us eating rib bones, and Christmas day we went for a wonderful turkey dinner at our friends Bob and Susan.  I enjoyed eating too much!  Boxing day was again a quiet day and we watched Netflix and I had a couple of good hikes with Ajax.   As I sat on Boxing day morning, I had some thoughts.

I like celebrating Christmas, but I think it has drifted to far from what it was intended to be. The most important thing about Christmas is remembering the gift of life the Jesus made available to all who are willing to open their eyes and see.  Christmas is not as much about opening presents as opening our hearts; and when you do, the magic of Christmas never ends.

Yes it is indeed possible to make everyday like Christmas!

 

Gypsy

Our little Gypsy deserves more attention on this blog.  She seems to be in Ajax's shadow so often, and does not get many posts of here own, even though she really is a very active part of the "pack?

Since Smoke passed away, Gypsy has really taken to Chris.  Smoke used to be Chris's kitty pal but now he has a new one.   

 

Below left she is enjoying a nice head rub by Chris before jumping up to her roost on top of the kitchen cupboard.

Another Trip to Whistler!

The Whistler Health Care Centre is a primary care clinic and we had the chance to have a second visit earlier this month for another CT scan for Chris.  It is so much quicker to get an appointment at Whistler than at one of our local hospitals in Vancouver.  Practically no waits.

While it takes about an hour and 10 minutes to get to Whistler from Horseshoe Bay, its a much nicer and more picturesque trip than having to go through downtown Vancouver and deal with traffic.    Chris's scan was only 10 minutes but the trip was worth it.

While he was in for the scan I did a quick run around the Whistler village ( which is exactly where the Clinic is).  Very convenient and free parking!!!

 On the way home we had fantastic views with the sun setting.
