Last Days of "Summer (??)"

Around 6pm tonight, Chris and I went down to the end of the road we live on. At the foot of the road is the ocean (of course)! The weatherman says today may be the last of the sunny ones.. so we took Jake and went and had a glass of wine (ok.. plastic cup) and enjoyed the view and the salt air and the sinking sun!! Potato Harvest

Well Chris dug up all our potatoes this aft. Close to 50 pounds of 'taters, 'taters, 'taters! I also pulled up my dill and cleaned up the herb garden for the fall. I played Johhny Appleseed and sprinkled the seeds I had harvested from my columbine, fox gloves, shasta daisies and milk weed, so we shall see what comes up next spring.

Heron on the Prowl

I caught this photo today of a regular visitor to my pond.. Harry the Heron He hasn't quite figured out how to get past the fishing line I have woven around the pond. He would love to dine on my goldfish, but so far.... the fish line is keeping him out. Jake usually keeps him away, but he gives it his best try every day.

Road Trip and Wineries

My sister Pat and I did a 3 day road trip to Oliver and Osoyoos, via Kelowna. Great weather, I had never been to Osoyoos and that area (Senora Desert) before, so was very impressed. Road Trip

Chris and I did a road trip to Whistler yesterday. They have been working on the sea-to-sky highway for some time now, in preparation for the 2010 olympics. Chris went on his motorbike, and I in my little red rav. A great late summer day - and the highway was awesome. This photo was taken at Porteau Cove on the way to Squamish.
