Awakenings in the Garden

We so love spring! This weekend we were able to get out and do some clean up, and of course take photos. Everything is alive and growing quickly. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are 4000. Our apple trees are in full bloom!!

Last fall's garlic is growing taller everyday.

The inedibles are getting greener and brighter every day.

And then there are the raspberries! We are going to have another good crop this summer!!

Did I say 4000? Well make it 5000, because we can't forget our dear Kamboula in the garden beside the blooming Rhodo!

Honk Honk

Sometimes I wonder where all the other dogs are in the early morning when the weather is fine. Sunday was one of those mornings, the skies were clear and the sun was warm; even at 8am. Perfect weather for a walk at the golf course and down to Seymour Landing beach, which is Jake's favorite place for a swim. As usual, the beach was deserted except for the geese (and lots of throwing sticks). Jake figured the geese were new playmates and they didn't seem to think otherwise as he swam happily among them with his stick. A perfect Sunday morning!

Holy Flying Hummers!!!

Amazing what you can catch on camera, I mean phone, these days(I used to say film!). I was out back just finishing a call, and this little Rufus Hummer came whizzing by, hovering to look at me and giving me enough time to switch to camera mode! I think part of the joy of sharing our property with these amazing little creatures is watching their family expansion, getting an insight into their social structure, and recognizing some of the bolder characters as they return each year from their migrations.
