A Nose by Any Other Name is Still a Nose

I'm on Efudiex for my nose!!!   It is an anti-cancer chemotherapy cream. It works by killing fast-growing cells such as the abnormal cells in actinic keratoses and basal cell carcinoma. Most of what is on my nose is the actinic keratoses.

Using Efudex cannot be clearly described, and no one can predict the results each treatment will produce for each person.

In my teen years and the 20 years following, I set the stage for a long string of events that have led to lots of pre-cancer cells on my nose.

I've just completed my cream treatment and hopefully the inflamation will heal soon.   However, one spot did not respond to the cream at all, one that is on the very tip of the end of my nose.  The one that brought me to the doctor in the first place, and the one that I had a liquid nitrogen treatment on about 10 years ago.  My doctor says it is a different kind of cancer cell so I have been referred to a plastic surgeon who will look at it and biopsy it and cut it out if needs be.   Stay tuned!
