Ajax goes to the meadows with me on Saturday mornings to meet up with his doggie friends. This weekend, as usual, his best "pawtner" Ocean was so he got to run with this 140lb Great Pyrenees most of the morning. He still can;t catch him though..
It was an odd Saturday though, because all the big dogs were there. I used to think that Ajax was getting so big at 7months and 75lbs, but compared to this pack, he is the small dog on the block for sure. The big dog "pawty" included Luba and Sophie that Black Russian Terriers, Darwin, the Leonberger, and of course Ocean. Ocean, Darwin and Ajax are all in-tact males, so its great there are never any issues.
I've always loved wildflowers. Dolly Parton's song called "Wildflowers", has a line that goes like this - ..WILD FLOWERS DON'T CARE WHERE THEY GROW... (I have a link to the song on this blog - so have a listen). I've always thought of myself as a wild flower; I'll put my roots anywhere. This blog is mostly about my "wild" garden, our pond, the birds and insects that visit, it`s about our animals, and our home projects.

Ourdoor Chores
What a day today was! They predicted snow flurries and instead we had 12c and sunshine! Great motivation to get my waders on and pull the fountain out of the pond for a good cleaning to get it ready for spring.
It only took me about 1/2 hour to get it all cleaned up and put back in the pond. We plugged her in and voila, she's pumping hard again! Yay. Today was a good day!

February Snowfall
It was sunny yesterday, and the groundhog saw his shadow. If the groundhog theory is correct, we will indeed be having 6 more weeks of winter. And so it goes, because we woke to snow this morning - again!
It was the nice kind of snow - fluffy and powdery; the kind you enjoy walking in. My walking, though, was limited to the property, and I snapped this shot of my buddleia bush which looked so enchanting this afternoon with the snow and the dangle art.

The ice on the pond had finally melted last weekend, but today, with the snow coming down, it looks like its going to starting to freeze up again.
Ajax loves both the snow and the pond, so he is a happy puppy. Happier at least than yesterday when there was no snow at all for him to play in.
