A Show of Monkshood!

How can you not fall in love with a perennial that has such a beautiful color, and is a late bloomer for your fall garden? Monkshood is that plant. It produces tall spikes of hooded purple or blue blooms in early to late fall. As I sit at my laptop, I have a full view of this splash of vibrant colour on an otherwise grey day.
When not in bloom, its mounds of coarse foliage look great, too. All parts of monskhood are poisonous so gloves need to be worn if touching the leaves or petals.
