I've always loved wildflowers. Dolly Parton's song called "Wildflowers", has a line that goes like this - ..WILD FLOWERS DON'T CARE WHERE THEY GROW... (I have a link to the song on this blog - so have a listen). I've always thought of myself as a wild flower; I'll put my roots anywhere. This blog is mostly about my "wild" garden, our pond, the birds and insects that visit, it`s about our animals, and our home projects.

Dinner For One
I simply must share with you my wonderful dinner tonight. As you can see from the picture above, I sauteed myself a very yummy "melange". Chris was having his famous beef stew, but I just had a hankering for something different. I used my last home-grown zucchini (so sad), a home grown garlic clove, some exquisite chanterelle mushrooms from the Queen Charlotte Islands, and fresh organic chicken livers. All this was sauteed in butter, and then, when I removed the veggies I added a splash of red wine to the chicken livers, and cooked them medium rare. Oh it was good. I mean really good. Julia would have approved. You can click on the picture to enlarge.
